McKenzie County Math Counts

Congrats to Liam, Blake and Willow!

Liam initially placed 3rd in the 8th grade division, but through determination and excellence in the oral rounds, he fought his way to the top and won the entire competition!! What an incredible comeback and well-earned victory!

Willow was crowned our 5th Grade Spelling Bee Champion!

Blake and Liam both advanced to the oral rounds, showcasing their hard work and preparation. Blake finished as the 7th Grade Runner-Up and had an impressive showing throughout the competition!

We had six students qualify for State Science Fair.

Congratulations to Chloe, Taylee, Alianna, Morgan, Adyssen and Tillie.

These 7^th and 8^th graders represented East Side at Academic Olympics in Glasgow, MT. Chosen for their dedication to learning,  investment in the classroom, and ability to quickly recall information, as well as their all-around attitude towards education, these kiddos did great competing against a pool of 45 of the area's finest scholars.

Tillie and Taylee tied for 11^th

Kylar also had a strong performance in this category!

Overall, in the written test compiled of 350 questions, the team placed 6^th in Class 2. 

But in the orals is where these kiddos really "cooked", especially Brady!  Winning two rounds and making it to the championship team against Scobey (the overall written test winning team), with the score tied at 60 points apiece, Scobey pulled out the win with one final answer. My bet is that our kids will forever remember the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet now...
